February 24, 2006 2:00pm - Groundbreaking held for the Wall of the Fallen at the International Towing Museum and Hall of Fame in Chattanooga, Tennessee

The official groundbreaking ceremony was held for the “Wall of the Fallen” at the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum. Chattanooga mayor Ron Littlefield and many other local officials attended and participated in the groundbreaking in front of the museum. Construction will begin soon and local artist Cessna Decosimo is currently hard at work on the sculpture for the memorial. The "Wall of the Fallen" will be the industry’s only memorial to operators who have died while performing their job.

This memorial, appropriately located at the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum in Chattanooga, TN will contain the names of operators from around the world who gave their lives while serving the motoring public. The project has been generously funded by a donation from the Miller Family Foundation based in Atlanta.

The Wall of the Fallen
The “Wall of the Fallen” is a memorial wall that will display the names of towers across the world who have died in the line of service. The wall will be unveiled on September 9, 2006 during TowFest in Chattanooga, TN. Along with this wall, the museum has also decided to start up a Survivor Fund for the families of those men and women who have died in the line of service.
